It Takes a Vintage

I love the nostalgic feel of vintage photographs juxtaposed with contemporary imagery

I'm experimenting with monochromatic pieces that have an isolated patch of vivid color

I added the cracked paper look here and although I see flaws here and there, I like how it came out

I want to learn how to do digital painting/ I suppose I'll need a proper PhotoShop program or something

Thin as a Pen

The poet and the painter, casting shadows on the water
As the sun plays on the infantry returning from the sea
The do-er and the thinker: no allowance for the other
As the failing light illuminates the mercenary's creed

The home fire is burning: the kettle almost boiling
But the master of the house is far away
The horses stampeding: their warm breath clouding
In the sharp and frosty morning of the day

And the poet lifts his pen while the soldier sheaths his sword

Velcome to the Machine

Hello, I am Baron Vyctor von Oppenhausen theYounger III, but you may call me Vycky, Vyc, Vy, Vyola, Vernon or Larry.
♪♫♪♫ if das haus is a rockin' don't bother knockin' ♫♪♫ baby ♫♪ come on in ♫

You are my guests, and I hope I can make each visit for you pleasurable and entertaining.
)))))))))))((((((((((

I'll be experimenting via this blog, so you may notice some inconsistency until I get settled into a pattern. How this "quilt" will evolve over time depends on trial and error and my discoveries through these processes. If something works well it will become part of my fabric and vice versa; if a thought doesn't click it will simply become part of the fray. The cloth I intend to use most often will be cut from the worldwide gay community, and more specifically from a gay man's perspective -- my own. I will likely create some disastrous posts but please bare with me while I figure out what I want to "say."

I am a poet and a painter. My prose are dark while my canvases can be even more foreboding, but I'm generally a lighthearted happy individual with a solid (albeit at times, morbid) sense of humor. I love to laugh and have fun, so I welcome you to smile with me.

I tend to express aggressive and even radical thoughts and ideas and rarely will you find me censoring myself for the good of mankind. That doesn't mean I'm not considering my reader's feelings, it simply means you will get all the creativity welled up inside me -- straight up, on the rocks and undiluted. Does that suggest I'm an acquired taste? Certainly, but aren't we all to some degree? I censor my bad boy side when I'm on Twitter and Facebook every day, so here I will attempt to "let loose" my alter-ego, provided the moment dictates a loosening of the before mentioned let.

Needless to say, this will be an adult blog site catering to a male sensibility. No one under 18 need apply, even with parental consent or a note from the doctor. lol __No kids allowed!

Sincerely,
Vycky
